If it's one thing Shaun O'Donnell does well, it's create modern mythology combining relentless action with a healthy dose of horror. With his novel "Demon Slayer," he adds religion into the mix, and the result is very exciting. The character of Ricardo Drago, an angel on earth who takes out the devil's figurative trash, is both likable and unsettling. His brutal tactics when facing demons should satisfy any fan of bloody brawling and guts and gore.The book isn't perfect. Some of the writing itself can be inconsistent. But it's a fast and ultimately satisfying read for any fan of the genre, and definitely worth a two-buck download.
